Introduction
This project is from a module called GPS 2 (Game Project Studio 2), where it basically puts you in a project where it emulates the environment of working with a proper game development team.
My team consisted a total of 8 members including me, where I was selected by my teammates to be the Design Lead.
The other members of the team included 2 more designers, 3 artists and 2 tech.
Design Process
The main inspiration of this game came from my fellow designer groupmate Ilyas. He wanted to make a RTS mobile game that is similar to the famous title "Plants versus Zombies".
The main difference for his idea was that he wanted the player unit to have 2 modes, where it swaps based the game state. In this case, the game would introduce a day & night time system, and it interchanges in a 30 second interval.

During the day it holds a pitch fork as a melee weapon
But during the night it transforms into a spring trap
Whimsical world
One of the things we wanted to make it as a unique selling point of our game is to have it appeal to broader audiences, as often or not we tend to see strategy games tend to have themes that are more male audience preferred (i.e. War, Science fiction, Fighting etc.)
Our game's aesthetics will feature more of a cartoonish, whimsical fairy tale like art style, where it would appeal more towards female audiences.
